Back and Fuckin' Nasty As Ever, Kid

I think it's been close to a year since Google erased my music blog, the fucking fascists.
Whatever. I like starting from scratch.
Finding Shawny Brando on here has given me a reason to start getting interested again.
Taste the piss.

First up: something for the beatheads.

I've been playing these two songs from a youngwolf producer by the name of Snowman(Jack) from Detroit non-stop.
This is from a series of seven 7" called 7x7 (mad clever) released by All City Records.
His installment, 1x7, was the first to drop.
Some of the other records in the series are good, but this is the only one worth putting up here.

The first track, Street Corner Music, is hard funk shot into a drum machine. Makes you wanna swing some shit over your head while your high steppin'.
Side two, Rise, is more of a kick drum pulse with high-hat breaths. Really nice.

Something else I've been listening to, with just as much frequency, is an EP called The Punch Drummer by British producer Paul White. These four songs are hard as hell and pretty outstanding. Every time I think it's gonna get too "house" for me, he drops sick shit all over it.
Great all the way through, but the last track...*phhhhhhht*BOOM!

Now, if I may flip the whole thing, here is a new record from boston-based Magic People called You Are the Magic People.
They do the Shellac thing without sounding like they're trying to do said thing; warmer production than Steve Albini as well.
Great, wacky synth sounds, distorted bass and very complementary drums. They pull off sounding angry with a tongue-in-cheek delivery. They even throw in a lounge-y, tropical-esque track called Fanciful Man and it works perfectly.
